2017 Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

The application period for the 2017 Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) closed on Friday, September 08, 2017. Information about the JLPT exam is included below for reference only.


Application Deadline

 8th September 2017
Applicants are advised to apply long before the deadline

Collection and Return of Application Forms

Application forms can be collected and returned at:
1. Japan Information and Culture Centre, Embassy of Japan
We are located in Upper Hill, Mara Road

Note: Students learning Japanese at a college or university can pick up and drop off the application forms from their teachers

Two passport size photos should be brought when returning the application forms.

Examination fees

The examination fee varies with the test level being registered for. The test levels and the corresponding examination fees are as follows:
Level N5 – Kshs. 1, 500
Level N4 – Kshs. 1, 500
Level N3 – Kshs. 2, 000
Level N2 – Kshs. 2, 000
Level N1 – Kshs. 2, 000
Note that payment is made on collection of the application forms. Payment must be made in cash.
