The Government of Japan offers scholarships to excellent students who would like to pursue their studies in Japan. Over the years more than 200 Kenyans have benefited from this Scholarship Program.
LIFE EXPERIENCE OF MUGO CYNTHIA NYAMBURA IN JAPAN FROM APRIL 2009
I would like to sincerely appreciate the Japanese government for granting me the opportunity to study in Japan through the MEXT scholarship. I also thank my Professor MATSUI, Kenji for accepting me to be a student in his laboratory in Yamaguchi University. The Japanese government has played a major role in fulfilling one of my academic aspirations; being able to further my studies. Looking back to my childhood days, at the tender age of 6years my desire was to one day study in Japan. I could watch Japan Video Topics a television which used to air on our National TV station, and I was fascinated with the advancement of technology in Japanand this stirred up a desire to study in Japan. I always told my late father that one day I will go to study in Japan and with his ever positive responses he would reply, “Hiyondegeutapandakwelinasikumojautaenda” meaning you will certainly get on that plane and one day go. At that time it seemed like a farfetched dream but now it is a realization that has to be fully utilized. Finally that one day came after a series of selection procedures; I was privileged to be a beneficiary of the MEXT scholarship among other 12students in April, 2009.
