Message from Ambassador

It is my great pleasure and honour to be posted to Kenya as the Ambassador of Japan.
Diplomatic ties between Japan and Kenya started in 1964. Since then, relations between our two countries have always been friendly and cooperation has flourished in many areas. I will do my utmost to further strengthen our relationship, making full use of my experience and expertise.
By working together, we can address challenges confronting our respective countries as well as the international community. Japan’s longstanding cooperation with KEMRI (Kenya Medical Research Institute) has helped in combatting Covid-19 in the country and the region. Just recently, Japan announced it will provide more than half a million doses of the Covid-19 vaccines to Kenya through COVAX as part of its support to Africa. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep sympathy to those affected by COVID-19.
While Africa has long been considered as the continent with high potential, I truly believe the time has come to make this a reality and Kenya is among the frontrunners in this regard. I look forward to visiting all corners of the country and reaching out to people of different backgrounds. Through such activities, I hope to further deepen and broaden Kenya’s link with Japan.
Ninatarajia kuwaona hivi Karibuni!
