The Embassy of Japan in Kenya is also accredited to Eritrea.

E/N signing ceremony for grant assistance for Eritrea

On 7th March 2019, in Asmara, the capital city of Eritrea, the Exchange of Notes (E/N) for a grant assistance of JPY272,000,000 (approximately USD2.4 million) for “the Project for the Provision of Cold Chain Equipment for Expanded Program on Immunization” was signed by Mr. Hirotaka Ishikawa, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in the State of Eritrea and Dr. Pierre Ngom, UNICEF Representative in the State of Eritrea. The objective of the project is to improve immunization program for the people of Eritrea by cold chain expansion and strengthening its functionality thereby contributing to enhance the country’s capacity for infectious disease control.

Ms. Shaya Ashindua, Deputy Representative of UNICEF Eritrea, Mr. Shinjiro Amameishi, Senior Representative of JICA Kenya office, Dr. Ngom and Mr. Ishikawa. Grant Agreement (G/A) was also signed by JICA and the UNICEF office on the same day as the E/N.
