Grant Singing Ceremony for the Project for the Improvement of Sanitation at Dallul Junior School in Maekel Region

 

On 24th February 2014, the Government of Japan, through Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP), has decided to provide a grant amounting to 121,871 US dollar (equivalent of 1,828,065 Nakfa) in order to assist the improvement of sanitation at Dallul Junior School in Maekel region.

The grant is to be used to construct toilet blocks and water tanks at Dallul Junior School.  After the completion of this project, the students and staffs will be able to enjoy better learning environment.   

Through its GGP scheme, established in 1989, the Government of Japan has been funding schools, medical institutions, community based organizations to support small scale projects on the area of education, health care, water and others.  The objective is to improve the lives of people at the grass-root level.  Japan will continue to work with the people of Eritrea to raise the quality of their lives by assisting in areas which meet basic human needs.
