Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts of the Republic of Kenya, Fukuoka Prefecture Government and Kurume City and concerning pre-games training camp for Team Kenya and the Paralympic Team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games

On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts of the Republic of Kenya, the Fukuoka Prefecture Government and Kurume City signed a MoU.

The aim of the MoU is to provide and facilitate a pre-games training camp for the Kenyan Olympic and Paralympic Team. The pre-training camp will provide the Kenyan team with the opportunity to train and prepare for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in optimal conditions which will enhance their conditions in Japan.

In order to enhance preparations for the training camp, the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts of the Republic of Kenya will provide a liaison officer who will work closely with liaison officers provided by the Fukuoka Prefecture Government and Kurume City.

In addition to this, the latter two will negotiate and facilitate training fields for the Kenyan team throughout the duration of the training period.
The Government of Japan is committed to providing a platform on which all athletes can deliver their personal best in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
