Handover Ceremonies for the Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Gabina Primary School and for the Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Kwadadu Primary School

2019/7/31
The Government of Japan has been providing funds to local Non-Profit Organizations through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) since 1989.

The official handover ceremonies for the Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Gabina Primary School and Kwadadu Primary School, under the GGP, took place at Ganze Sub-County, Kilifi County, on 31st July, 2019.

Gabina Primary School was awarded a grant of USD 84,409 (approximately Kshs.8.5 Million) for the construction of classrooms, toilets, gate and fence, and also installation of furniture and water tanks.

Kwadadu Primary School received a grant amounting to USD 50,156 (approximately Kshs. 5.1 Million) for the construction of classrooms and fence, and also installation of furniture and water tanks.

The schools did not have enough permanent school facilities, which caused learning and health problems to the pupils. It is expected the projects will provide an essential educational environment for pupils and teachers and motivate them to work harder.
