Signing Ceremony for the Project for “Community-Based Child Nutrition Improvement Project Centering around ECDE Centres”

On 17th February 2020, H.E. Mr. HORIE Ryoichi, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kenya, signed, on behalf of the Government of Japan, a grant contract with the Japanese NGO, Health and Development Service (HANDS), amounting to 490,257 US Dollars.
The contract was signed to facilitate the implementation of the “Community-Based Child Nutrition Improvement Project Centering around ECDE Centres (Phase 2)”. The project aims to improve nutritional status of children under 5 years old in Sigowet/Soin Sub-county Kericho County via capacity development of Community Health Volunteers, teachers and community members. In addition, the project supports establishment of school gardens and construction of kitchens, water tanks and latrine blocks.
