Ambassador and Madam Horie attended the Olympic Trial Championship to show their support for the Kenyan athletes

On 19th June 2021, Ambassador and Madam Horie attended the Olympic Trial Championship held at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani. This event was to showcase the performances of the Kenyan athletes who have qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games, which will be held from 23rd July to 8th August this year. Those present included, the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. Joseph Kinyua, Head of the Public Service Ambassador Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage, and General Jackson Tuwei, President of Athletics Kenya.
 
Ambassador Horie cherished the performances by the Kenyan athletes and wished them all the very best in the upcoming games. The Ambassador also reassured that the preparation to receive Team Kenya in Kurume City were well underway and nearing completion, and that the team would enjoy a cordial and comfortable stay.
 
The Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga as well as CS Amina paid tribute to Japan’s meticulous preparations to host the Games amidst the global pandemic and extended special gratitude to Ambassador Horie for his support for the success of the Kenyan athletes.
