Ambassador and Madam Horie attended the Flag handover ceremony to cheer Kenyan athletes

On 8th July 2021, H.E. Ambassador. HORIE Ryoichi and Madam Horie attended the Flag handover ceremony held at State House Nairobi. This event was hosted by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta to cheer Kenyan athletes who will participate in the forthcoming Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympic Games will be held from 23rd July to 8th August 2021, and Paralympic Games will be from 24th August to 5th September 2021. Also present at the ceremony were Ambassador Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage, Ambassador Rachel Omamo, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Paul Tergat, President of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.
Ambassador Horie expressed his respect to the Kenyan athletes who have made great efforts thus far despite the extreme uncertainness due to the pandemic.
