The Conferment of the Ambassador’s Commendation to IPSTC

On October 27th, Ambassador Okaniwa presented the Ambassador’s Commendation to the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) on the occasion of 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Kenya. The commendation was given in appreciation of the IPSTC’s contribution to mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Kenya through cooperation with Japan.

Since its establishment, the IPSTC has contributed to peace and stability in Africa in capacity building and human resource development in Kenya and Africa.
Since 2008, Japan has supported IPSTC by dispatching experts to conduct lectures and training in fields such as operation of heavy machinery, PKO, disaster response, human rights, and protection of civilians. This collaboration not only to peace and stability in Africa but also strengthened the bond of friendship between Japan and Kenya / Africa.
