Signing of the Grant Contract to support the construction of a classroom block for Karatina Girls’ High School in Nyeri County

On 29 February 2024, the signing ceremony of the grant contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held between H.E. Mr. OKANIWA Ken, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kenya and Dr. Joshua N. Gikonyo, Chairperson of Board of Management of Karatina Girls’ High School.
The School in Nyeri County will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 13 million (USD 83,240) from the Government of Japan. It will be used to construct a classroom block to accommodate 4 classrooms ease congestion.
Japan attaches great importance to education and supports human resources development in Kenya. The implementation of the project is expected to improve the school’s educational environment.
