Signing of the Grant Contract to support the construction of dormitories for Koyonzo Special School for the Visually Impaired in Kakamega County

On 29 February 2024, the signing ceremony of the grant contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held between H.E. Mr. OKANIWA Ken, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kenya and Mrs. Catherine Washiali, Secretary of Koyonzo Special School for the Visually Impaired Board of Management.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Hon. Peter Oscar Nabulindo, MP for Matungu Constituency where the school is located.
The School in Kakamega County will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 10 million (USD 62,775) from the Government of Japan. It will be used to construct two dormitories to improve children’s living environment.
Japan attaches great importance to education and supports human resources development in Kenya. The implementation of the project is expected to improve the school’s educational environment.
