Signing of the Grant Contract to support the Improvement of Equator Special School and Vocational Training Centre in Siaya County

On 7 March 2025, the signing ceremony of the grant contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held between H.E. Mr. Hiroshi MATSUURA, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kenya and Mr. Julius Omondi Kabbis, Head of Institution of Equator Special School and Vocational Training Centre.
The Centre in Siaya County will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 14 million (USD 114,565) from the Government of Japan. It will be used to construct a perimeter wall and to rehabilitate facilities.
Japan attaches great importance to education and supports human resources development in Kenya. The implementation of the project is expected to improve the school’s educational environment.
