About JDS programme
JDS programme is currently implemented in 21 partner countries globally. The programme started in 1999, initially catering for young civil servants in Asian countries transitioning into a market economy. Over time, more countries have been included in the programme. Besides Kenya, Ghana and Senegal are other participating countries in Africa.
JDS programme offers fellows opportunities to obtain Master's degrees from top Japanese universities in various fields in mainly social science, depending on the priority development issues of each participating country. A limited number of Doctoral degrees is also available.
