On 8 August, H.E. Mr. MATSUURA Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan held a badminton equipment handover ceremony at the the Embassy and delivered a congratulatory address.

This handover ceremony was organised based on a request from Badminton Association of Japan (BAJ), which conducts activities worldwide to donate badminton equipment collected from various regions of Japan to athletes who lack adequate training facilities.
This time, a total of 270 items of equipment, including rackets, uniforms, and shuttles, were donated.

At the ceremony, Ambassador MATSUURA delivered his congratulatory remarks, followed by a speech by Mr. Yuki Sato, an umpire from BAJ. Representatives from the Badminton Kenya, the Kenya Para Badminton Federation, and the National Paralympic Committee of Kenya also expressed their gratitude.

It is hoped that this donation of equipment will significantly contribute to the development of badminton and parasports in Kenya, as well as to the friendly relations between Japan and Kenya through sports.
