Applications for the 6th Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) have officially opened. The JDS provides scholarships to young Kenyan government officials to pursue Master’s degrees at Japanese universities.

Under the JDS programme, participants are provided with opportunities to obtain Master's degrees primarily at top Japanese universities specializing in social science, in accordance with the priority socio-economic development issues of each participating country.

About the JDS Programme
The JDS programme is currently implemented in 26 partner countries worldwide. The programme, which was launched in 1999, initially targeted young government officials from Asian countries transitioning to market-oriented economies. Since then, the target countries have expanded, and in Africa, the program is currently implemented in Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, and Mozambique.Under the JDS programme, participants are provided with opportunities to obtain Master's degrees primarily at top Japanese universities specializing in social science, in accordance with the priority socio-economic development issues of each participating country.
