Attendance by Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Hori at the Completion Ceremony of the Recycling Facilities Implemented by Peace Winds Japan Under the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects

On October 22, 2026, Mr. Hori, Deputy Chief of Mission, visited Kakuma, Turkana County, and attended the completion ceremony of the recycling facility. This facility was established under the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects, titled "Project for Establishment of Decentralized Solid Waste Management System for Recyclable Society in Kakuma and Kalobeyei Wards, Turkana County " implemented by Peace Winds Japan (PWJ). During the ceremony, representatives from both the Turkana County Government and PWJ expressed their deep gratitude for the continued support from the Government of Japan.
With the launch of this recycling facility, it is highly expected that local waste management issues will be addressed and efforts toward realizing a circular economy will be promoted, while further strengthening the cooperative relationship between Japan and Kenya.
