Main activity

A handing over ceremony for the Project for the Expansion of Chesongoch Health Centre in Marakwet was held with more than 500 participants at the site. This project was granted USD 106,323 to construct an operation theatre, purchase medical equipments and renovate an existing X-ray room in March 2011.
First of all Bishop Korir gave blessings to a newly constructed theatre. Then Mr. Yamada, Hon. Kilimo and the Bishop cut ribbon to open the facility officially.
After tree planting, invited guests sat down for the ceremony and gave speeches. Sr. Benedictine who are in charge of the health centre, Sr. Michael Mary the Prioress, District Commissioner, Bishop Korir and Hon. Kilimo gave speech in order and expressed their gratitude towards the Government of Japan assisting the community through the project.
Mr. Yamada congratulated Missionary Benedictine Sisters and all the community members on timely completion of the project in his speech. He also said that the health centre is expected to become a beacon of hope for people who need medical treatment. At last, he appreciated the participants for praying for Japan at the Grant Contract Signing Ceremony in March 2011.
