The application window for the 2026 Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship  is now closed.

The application window for 2028 scholarship is expected to open in April 2027.
Information about the 2026 Scholarship is included below for reference only.
Note: College of Technology certificates are comparable to non-degree "Higher Diplomas"
 

Qualifications

 

Duration of Study

A four-year scholarship is offered (first year in Japanese language training). Courses are undertaken in college of technology schools.  
 

Application Forms and Guidelines

Prospective applicants can download FREE application forms found on the Study in Japan website.
 
Documents to be submitted are listed on the Application Guidelines. Prospective applicants should read the instructions contained therein carefully.
 
The application documents may be hand delivered, delivered by courier or posted but must be received at the Embassy of Japan in Kenya no later than 4:30pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
