By constructing a water supply facility in Ugenya, Siaya County, the community will be able to have easier access to clean water and thus also be safe from contracting water borne diseases.

The ceremony started with Ambassador Terada congratulating the organization which had been selected from more than 450 applications received by the Embassy of Japan in the previous year.

Ambassador Terada wished the organization success and assured of the Embassy’s support during the project implementation.  Mr. David Ogiga, the Project Manager of the Mulambo Self Help Group, responded to the Ambassador by promising to complete the project by March 2016.  The Chairman of the Self Help Group, Mr. John Orek also expressed his appreciation for the grant.
