On the 16th of October 2012, Mr. Yoichiro Yamada, Deputy Chief of Mission, attended the foundation laying ceremony of the project for the Reinforcement of Vaccine Storage. This project aims to construct 4 vaccine storages in Kakamega, Meru, Garissa, and Nairobi and install refrigerators in Eldoret, Nakuru and Mombasa.
