Outline
Ambassador Iwatani attended the launching ceremony of IPSTC project, funded by the Government of Japan and will be implemented by UNDP.
At the same occasion was the graduation ceremony of the UN/AU police training course also funded by Japanese Government.
Project Outline
  1. Objective : To strengthen institutional and human capacity in peace support operations in East Africa in order to effectively prevent, respond and mitigate conflicts and maintain peace and security in the region
  2. Project Duration : 2 years
  3. Project total amount : 356 million USD
  4. Project Implementing Agency : UNDP
  5. Expected Outcome
    1. Providing a basis for the development of realistic up-to-date training and education programs for PSO that reflect regional requirements.
    2. Making a major input in the IPSTC Conflict Prevention, Conflict Management and Post Conflict Recovery training and education.
