Japan-Kenya Cultural Exchange: University of Nairobi and USIU Professors’ Visit to the Amb. Horie’s Residence
On 21st January, 2021, Amb. and Madam Horie received professors from University of Nairobi and USIU including Prof. (Amb.) Ruthie Rono, Deputy Vice Chancellor of USIU and Prof. Mohamud Jama, Principal, College of Humanities and Social Sciences of University of Nairobi at the Residence. Amb. and Madam Horie introduced Japanese culture such as “Chado (Japanese Tea Ceremony)” and “Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arrangement)”. In addition, Amb. and Madam Horie performed Japanese, English and Kiswahili songs for them. Amb. Horie also discussed various topics such as situation of higher education in Kenya with the professors. This cultural event was held with due consideration for COVID-19.
