In attendance were Scond Secretary of Economic Cooperation Section of Embassy of Japan to Kenya, Ms. Yui Takashima and the project beneficiaries including the County officials.

The project was awarded a grant of 143,002 US Dollars (Approximately 11.8 million Kshs) for the construction of 8 classrooms, 1 teachers’ room, 4 admin rooms, 1 boys’ dormitory, 24 pit latrines, renovation of 5 classrooms, installation of 2 water tanks and purchase of furniture to improve educational and hygienic environment at Ptarkong Primary School which is located in very remote area. Mr. Titus Lotee, Deputy Governor of West Pokot County thanked the Government and people of Japan for the generous support to West Pokot County. He expressed his county’s wish to have further partnership with Japan in various areas of cooperation for the development of the county.

While giving her speech, Ms. Takashima congratulated Ptarkong Primary School for the successful completion of the project after overcoming various hardships.
