Signing Ceremony for the Grant Contract for GGP - Kaumoso Community Based Organization

On 1st March 2019, Mr. Katayama, the Charge d’ Affaires a.i., signed the Grant Contract for the Project for Empowerment of Vulnerable People through Installation of Equipment for Small Scale Farming in Bomachoge Chache Sub-County with Kaumoso Community Based Organization. The amount of the grant is USD 50,010 to be used for the construction of green houses and procurement of incubators and ripening chambers.
The grantee organization was established to support vulnerable people in the community in 1998 and works in Bomachoge Chache Sub-County, Kisii County. They distribute banana suckers and chicks for income generation to those vulnerable households and also provide training for small scale farming and marketing. They promote a system in which beneficiaries contribute to other members in the same community. 840 additional new households will be supported by the GGP fund through training on small scale farming, with the expectation of sustainably increased incomes.
