Signing Ceremony for the Grant Contract for GGP - St. Benedict Buloma Primary School

Mr. Katayama, the Minister-Counsellor signed the Grant Contract for the Project for the Improvement of Educational and Hygienic Environment at St. Benedict Buloma Primary School with St. Benedict Buloma Primary School on 5th March 2019. The amount of the grant is USD 82,719 to be used for the construction of 7 classrooms and procurement of furniture.
St. Benedict Buloma Primary School opened in 2016 in Matungu Sub County, Kakamega County. There are 10 teachers and 450 pupils from class 1 to 5 and Early Child Development Education classes. The school has 4 temporary classrooms built of mud, and this situation forces over 200 pupils to learn outside and no classes take place once rains starts. Moreover, many of them are suffering from jiggers because of the soil. The project will provide a conducive educational and hygienic environment for both teachers and pupils.
