Signing Ceremony for the Grant Contract for GGP - St. Benedict Ithanga Secondary School

Mr. Katayama, the Minister-Counsellor signed the Grant Contract for the Project for the Development of Educational and Hygienic Infrastructure at St. Benedict Ithanga Secondary School with St. Benedict Ithanga Secondary School on 5th March 2019. The amount of the grant is USD 82,579 to be used for the construction of 4 classroom blocks, a laboratory, a pit-latrine block and procurement of furniture.
St. Benedict Ithanga is a mixed day secondary school established in 2013 in Gatanga Sub County, Murang’a County and current enrollment is 184 pupils and 9 teachers. They currently are lent facilities by other primary school since the school does not have any classrooms and laboratory. This project will develop educational and hygienic infrastructure and create more space thereby enhancing learner-teacher interaction. It is expected that the school will raise its enrolment standards and an improvement in performance in the national examination.
