Japanese Prime Minister Abe announced the “African Business Education Initiative for Youth” (hereafter referred to as the “ABE Initiative”), a strategic five-year plan providing 1,000 youths in Africa with opportunities to study at Japanese universities as well as do internships at Japanese enterprises.

The purpose of the project is to develop human resources which contribute to resolve challenges each country is facing through business activities and promotion of industries, and to cultivate “Navigators” who promote and expand the business relationship between Africa and Japan.
This program is composed of two programs - a master’s degree program in Japanese Universities and internships at Japanese enterprises.
