Courtesy Call by JICA Volunteers

On 11th October, seven JICA volunteers who have completed their 2 years activity paid a courtesy call on H. E. Ambassador Ryoichi Horie at the Embassy of Japan in Kenya.
 
Mr. Tetsuya TAKAHASHI was assigned to Kakamega Boys Rehabilitation School in Kakamega County. He improved students’ attitude to learning and lifestyle through youth activities such as art and sports.
 
Mr. Kazuma MARI was assigned to Igembe South Sub-County Irrigation Office in Maua, Meru County. He worked with communities and taught them how to grow vegetables using irrigation facilities, as well as poultry farming.
 
Mr. Daichi MOROZUMI was assigned to Sikri Technical Training Institute for the Blind and Deaf in Homabay County. He taught students Shiatsu Massage as a means of financial independence.
 
Ms. Natsuko KAWAHARA was assigned to Ugenya Sub-County Medical Office of Health in Siaya County. She worked on improving quality of medical service and maternal and child health, and community empowerment.
 
Ms. Sayuri TAKATSU was assigned to Kapsabet Nandi Water And Sanitation Company in Nandi County. She worked on making digital maps of waterworks pipes in Kapsabet City.
 
Mr. Tomohisa SUZUKI, Senior Volunteer, was assigned to Department of Probation and Aftercare Service in Nairobi County. He worked to standardize the ICT curriculum provided at Training Centers run by probation office.
 
Mr. Osamu YAMAGATA, Senior Volunteer, was assigned to Embu Water and Sanitation Company Ltd in Embu County. He advised the company on constructing a new sewage treatment plant.
 
Ambassador Horie, expressed his appreciation for volunteers’ great contributions to Kenya.
