Press conference to launch the Japan- Kenya Business Dialogue

On 15th October 2019, H.E. Ambassador Ryoichi Horie and Dr. Moses Ikiara, Managing Director, Kenya Investment Authority held a press conference to launch the Japan- Kenya Business Dialogue of Kenya Investment Authority.
H.E. Ambassador Horie was delighted to kick off the Dialogue which, H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to establish during the TICAD- 7 held in Yokohama, Japan in August, 2019, as a common platform for working together to resolve various business issues affecting Japanese and Kenyan companies.
He expressed confidence that this Dialogue will definitely be a driving force for business expansion in not only both Kenya and Japan but also East Africa.
Dr. Ikiara said that he would like to see trade expand from Kenya to not only Japan but also within Africa as a result of this dialogue.
He welcomed with the need for collaboration between Japanese companies and Kenyan companies.
The press conference was held in partnership with the Japanese Business Association in Kenya, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and representatives from relevant government and industrial institutions in Kenya namely Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mrs. Mwangi, Senior Foreign Service Officer), the SEZ Authority (Mr. Kimeu, acting CEO), Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Ms. Kariuki, CEO), Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ms. Ndambuki, CEO), Kenya Association of Manufacturers (Mr. Gudka, Chairman) and other stakeholders were in attandance.
