The signing ceremony of the Grant Contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)

On 7th February 2020, the signing ceremony of the Grant Contract for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held at the Embassy of Japan. The Grant Contracts were signed by H.E. Mr. HORIE Ryoichi, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kenya and the representatives of Reinha Rosary Mission Health Centre, the Born Free Foundation and AIC CURE International Hospital.
Reinha Rosary Mission Health Centre will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 9.2 million (USD 95,909) from the Government of Japan. It will be used for the construction of Mother and Child Health Clinic and HIV/TB Centre at Reinha Rosary Mission Health Centre.
The Born Free Foundation will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 14.1 million (USD 146,112) to be used for the improvement of dormitories at Ngonzini Primary School. The target school is located in Kinango Sub-County, Kwale County and has 516 pupils. The Born Free Foundation has been supporting the school over 20 years.
AIC CURE International Hospital will receive a grant of approximately Ksh 8.7 million (USD 90,438) to be used for the expansion of a Children’s Ward. The hospital is located in Lari Sub-County, Kiambu County. It is the only pediatric orthopedic hospital in Kenya and provides opportunities for children with disabilities to improve their lives through various interventions including surgical and rehabilitation.
Upon completion of the projects, over 7,000 people will find benefit by creating safety and security for pupils and patients alike in Kenya. The Embassy hopes successful completion of the projects.
