Handover Ceremony for the Project for the Improvement of Livelihoods of Kerio Valley Communities through Establishment of a Fruit Value Addition Facility

The official handing over ceremony for “The Project for the Improvement of Livelihoods of Kerio Valley Communities through Establishment of a Fruit Value Addition Facility” was held at AIC Cheptebo Rural Development Centre, Keiyo South Sub-County, Elgeyo Marakwet County on 14th February 2020.
 
The Project received a grant amount of USD 88,431 (approx. Kshs 8.9 Million) from the Government of Japan for the construction of fruit processing factory and purchase of a gas fruit dryer. The herein objective of the project is to increase farmer’s income. Kenya Fruits Solutions based in Thika, led by Japanese entrepreneur Ms. Ayumi Yamamoto has been providing training in good manufacturing practice, food safety and standard operation Procedure from the time of project implementation.
