Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for “The Project for the Construction of a Comprehensive Care Centre for Children with Special Needs”

On 13th August 2021, an official GGP signing ceremony was held at the Ambassador’s residence where H.E. Mr. HORIE Ryoichi, Ambassador of Japan to Kenya and Dr. KUMON Kazuko, the representative of The Garden of Siloam, a non-governmental organisation, signed a grant contract amounting to USD 175,187.00 (approx. Kshs 18million) which will be utilised for the construction of a comprehensive care centre for children with special needs in Limuru sub-county, Kiambu county.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Garden of Siloam (https://gardenofsiloam.jimdofree.com/) has been tireless in their efforts to accommodate as many children with special needs as possible at their centre, where they provide high quality education, personalised health care, therapy as well as psychological and social support to cater for the different needs of the children and their families

With the funds provided by the Government of Japan, the newly constructed comprehensive care centre will benefit 70 children with special needs and 280 family members by providing appropriate medical care and other services, which will contribute to improving their overall well being, quality of life and social engagement in the community.
