Handover of a Mammography Machine at AIC Kijabe Hospital in Kiambu County

On 15th June, H.E. Ambassador OKANIWA Ken handed over a mammography machine to Ms. Susan N. Mochache, C.B.S, Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Health at the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Kijabe Hospital in Kiambu County.
This grant assistance is part of Japan’s broader Economic Social Development Programme which supplies Kenya with medical equipment including seven complete endoscopic units and four double cab 4WD pickup trucks.
The project has supported the establishment of regional cancer-screening clinics across the country by enhancing equitable distribution of cancer screening and early detection equipment and services. The project has also provided other medical equipment to 22 hospitals and medical institutions in Kenya.
This grant assistance is in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030 which identifies the health sector as an essential component to national development. Specifically, this assistance supports improvement of the health situation in Kenya by shifting focus from curative healthcare to preventive and promotive healthcare.
