Handing Over Ceremony of the Project for the Construction of a Comprehensive Care Centre for Children with Special Needs

On 7th October 2022, H.E. Mr. OKANIWA Ken, Ambassador of Japan attended the handing over ceremony of “the Project for the Construction of a Comprehensive Care Centre for Children with Special Needs” at the Garden of Siloam (GoS) in Limuru Sub-County in Kiambu County. A representative of Kiambu Governor Wamatangi and local members of the National Assembly were also present.
Japan provided the GoS with about Ksh 18.3 million through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). The GGP fund aided to construct a comprehensive care centre for children with special needs. The construction of the new facility will enable GoS to receive more children.
A Japanese paediatrician Dr. Kazuko Kumon established the Centre to serve children with special needs and to reach out to the community to raise awareness.
