Send-off Ceremony for the ABE Initiative and SDGs Global Leaders

On Friday, 23rd August 2024, H.E. Mr. OKANIWA Ken, Ambassador of Japan attended the Send-off Ceremony for the 11th batch of the ABE Initiative and SDGs Global Leader participants at Nairobi. From the Government of Kenya, Mr. Alwanga Jackson, Director, Human Resource Development and Head of Technical Support from Partners Organisation, Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
15 young businesspersons and civil servants from Kenya and Somalia will be heading to Japan for their Master/Ph.D Studies fully facilitated by both ABE Initiative and SDGs program.
The objective of the ABE Initiative (African Business Education Initiative for Youth) is to support young personnel in private sector who can become the “Bridge (Kakehashi in Japanese)” for contribution to the development of industry between African Continent and Japan. SDGs program is tailored towards developing young African leaders in public sector to develop high level human resources who would contribute to appropriate policy decision and its implementation for tackling political and developmental issues in respective fields. Some former fellows are working at Japanese firms based on the research and internship in Japan.
