UNESCO Project Inception Workshop: Japan Supplementary Budget 2024-2025

On 2nd July, Ambassador MATSUURA attended the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Inception Workshop for the “Enhancing Flood Resilience in Kenya” project funded by the Japan Supplementary Budget 2024-2025. For this project, Japanese specialized research agencies, namely, International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHARM) and University of Tokyo, will work with UNESCO during implementation. The Government of Japan will support introduction of flood risk management tool, hydrological monitoring, development of hazard maps, community-level introduction of an early warning system and public awareness raising in the Tana River basin region.
