Comic Magazine (コミック雑誌なんかいらない!)

One of the typical Japanese TV program called "the Wide-Shows" provides mainly the gossips on film or TV stars and singers to housewives during the daytime. There are usually specialized reporters to chase after the stars and try to expose their privacy. Usually, these "star-chasers" are master storytellers and with their narrative skills, they exaggerate and report the incidents, which enlarge the viewing audiences, and make money for the different networks.
In this film, Kinameri is one of these chasers. He is a poor talker but is highly praised for his pushy interviews. This film deals with true incidents occurring in 1985. Describing Japanese society sometimes as serious documentary, it satirizes, using pathos, as parody. The end resolve being that reality may be more amusing than comic magazines.
